Kimi / Pricing
Kimi pricing:
plans and API costs.
Kimi’s free plan, paid memberships and developer API serve different needs. Here is what each costs, with worked examples for API usage.

How much is a Kimi subscription?
Kimi lists a free Adagio plan and four paid individual plans. These are the prices displayed on its English membership page when we checked both billing options.
| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual payment | Monthly equivalent of annual payment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adagio | $0 | — | — |
| Plus | $19 | $180 | $15 |
| Pro | $39 | $372 | $31 |
| Max | $99 | $948 | $79 |
| Ultra | $199 | $1,908 | $159 |
An annual price shown “per month” is an equivalent rate: the annual payment is the amount billed. Check purchase eligibility, renewal terms and the final checkout total in your account.

Choose the billing system first. A Kimi app membership and usage on the developer API platform are separate products. Do not treat a subscription’s included features as a balance of general-purpose API tokens.
Kimi API pricing per million tokens
These are the standard prices displayed by Kimi’s own API platform, excluding applicable taxes. Third-party hosts set their own rates.
| API model ID | Cached input | Uncached input | Output |
|---|---|---|---|
kimi-k3 | $0.30 | $3.00 | $15.00 |
kimi-k2.7-code | $0.19 | $0.95 | $4.00 |
kimi-k2.7-code-highspeed | $0.38 | $1.90 | $8.00 |
kimi-k2.6 | $0.16 | $0.95 | $4.00 |
One million tokens means 1,000,000 billing units, not one million words. Input and output are charged separately. Only the input actually served from cache receives the cached rate; do not apply that lower price to the entire prompt by default.

What would 1,000 requests cost?
Our illustrative workload is 1,000 requests, each with 2,000 uncached input tokens and 500 output tokens. That totals 2 million input and 0.5 million output tokens. These are calculations, not measured performance tests.
| Model | Calculation | Estimated model charge |
|---|---|---|
| Kimi K3 | (2 × $3) + (0.5 × $15) | $13.50 |
| Kimi K2.7 Code | (2 × $0.95) + (0.5 × $4) | $3.90 |
| Kimi K2.7 Code Highspeed | (2 × $1.90) + (0.5 × $8) | $7.80 |
| Kimi K2.6 | (2 × $0.95) + (0.5 × $4) | $3.90 |
If 80% of that same K3 input were cache hits, the calculation would become (1.6 × $0.30) + (0.4 × $3) + (0.5 × $15) = $9.18. This is a hypothetical hit rate, not a promised saving.
Use the actual billed token counts from your requests. Conversation history, documents and additional model calls can make one user task much larger than one short prompt. These estimates exclude tools, tax and your own application costs.
Charges and limits beyond the headline rate
API activation and rate limits
Kimi’s API documentation currently requires at least a $1 top-up to begin using the platform. Account rate limits depend on cumulative recharge. Available credit and requests-per-minute capacity are different limits. Check the official recharge and rate-limit rules.
Batch processing
The documented Batch API price is 60% of the standard model price for supported models, including Kimi K2.7 Code and Kimi K2.6. This means a 40% reduction, not a 60% reduction. Use it for eligible work that can wait; do not apply the discount to ordinary live chat calls. Check batch pricing and supported models.
Search and page fetching
The standalone tools list $0.002 per successful Web Search Basic call, $0.003 for Web Search Pro and $0.002 for URL Fetch, subject to the documented non-empty-result conditions. For example, 1,000 billable Basic searches add $2 before any model charges. Verify tool charges.
Kimi pricing questions
Is Kimi free?
The consumer service lists the free Adagio plan. That does not make developer API usage free or guarantee unlimited access to every feature. Compare the limits of the service you actually intend to use.
Which plan should I start with?
For occasional use of the official assistant, try the free plan on your own tasks first. Move to a paid membership when a specific allowance or feature justifies it. For an application you are building, estimate API usage separately rather than comparing only monthly subscription labels.
Can I buy a plan from ChinaAI?
No. ChinaAI is an independent guide. Purchases, billing and account support belong to Kimi or your selected API provider.
Before estimating usage, compare Kimi models and context windows. Then follow the Kimi API setup and troubleshooting guide to match the key, endpoint and model.
Continue with the Kimi overview, compare Qwen pricing or DeepSeek pricing, and read how we check sources. Report a pricing correction.
